U.K government announces high-tech material advances evidence search

The U.K government is currently looking into how high-tech materials can better the U.K during an evidence gathering period.

In a recent press release to the gov.uk website, the U.K government have disclosed how they plan to look into how material advances can help the U.K industry.

As part of the innovation strategy, the government are now looking into how artificial materials can help the U.K moving forward. These include (as discussed in the press release:

·     Metamaterials

·     2D material (single layer atom structures)

·     Self-healing materials

·     Composite structures

It will be a little while before the U.K. knows the outcome of this evidence search as to how these materials will be applied for benefit. But it is likely that these will help within the engineering and infrastructure industries.
